It's hard to differentiate a printer. But we helped CCS Printing break through the noise and let its prospects know why they should talk to them. First, we created a strategic role in the marketplace based on their ability to consult on all aspects of the printing process, starting with design and going through inventory and warehousing—CCS Printing is the guide to lowering your Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in printing. We then created a graphic association of an Indiana Jones-like fedora to communicate that guiding role.

We then developed an educational seminar on TCO printing, sent out 200 three-dimensional direct mail boxes containing a bottle with a treasure-like map inside, inviting prospects to the seminar and offering attendees a free fedora. We also included a hat size measuring tape. Attendees received a TCO educational booklet, the hat, and an educational seminar. The direct mail garnered an eye-popping 16 percent response rate! And CCS Printing let the world know who it is and how it is different.
